VDMA Based in Bergneustadt, Sandvik's crushing division has been supplying customers worldwide for nearly 60 years. feed material. A standard CR810 Hybrid is capable of achieving a throughput of up to 8,000 mt/h, and can reach more than 12,000 mt/h when incorporated into large crushing plants and IPCC systems. CR810 Hybrids are designed for use in crushing ores, coal, potash and limestone, and in challenging applications such as wet and sticky feed material. The company's CR610 Center Sizers are generally used in openpit mining, with -2,000 mm feed. Other possibilities include primary crushing in underground mining, and other secondary and tertiary crushing applications. The inward-rotating rolls crush materials with a hardness of up to 120 MPa, including ores, coal, coke, potash and salt. The CR620 Side Sizers are primarily used for secondary and tertiary crushing applications, with the potential for use in underground mining. Outward-rotating rolls crush the feed material between the rolls and crushing plates/combs. Inclined lateral components with integrated crushing combs allow the unit to handle a lumpy product feed up to 300 mm. While commonly used for crushing coal and lignite, these crushers can handle other materials up to a hardness of around 120 MPa, such as ores, gypsum and salt. Sandvik says its CR810 Hybrids and CR610 and CR620 Sizers are designed to handle feed materials efficiently, and to reduce the production of dust and fines. Shields and guards are built into the machines to isolate moving parts from the operator. The focus of safety in the design is evident in the maintenance of the equipment, the company adds, with replaceable picks and segments being designed for safe handling and installation. Sensor Sorting Enhances Concentrator Performance and Efficiency As its name suggests, Cologne-based Steinert Elektromagnetbau GmbH has its roots in the development and production of magnets, a business it has been serving since the 1890s. More recently, it has added sensor sorting to its product range, and now has metal detectors, color sorters and X-ray sorters that are finding applications in the minerals industry. According to the company's regional manager for the U.S. and application specialist, Stephen Krehla, providing upgraded feed for VDMA 40 VDMA MINING SUPPLEMENT • 2013
