COMPANY PROFILE-PAID ADVERTISEMENT Stellar TM20165 Uses Advanced Technology to Keep You Up and Running Larger mining equipment increases productivity—and maintenance challenges. Yet new technologies can keep equipment in peak condition with little downtime and minimal expenses. A major challenge of larger equipment is changing massive off-the-road (OTR) tires right in the mine in a timely and cost-efficient way and mining companies are turning to Stellar Industries for a solution. Founded in 1990 in Garner, Iowa, Stellar Industries Inc. is an employeeowned and operated manufacturer of hydraulic truck mounted equipment. Today, the company possesses a growing product line and expanding distributor network. Products have gained an international presence in North America, China, Russia, Australia, Africa and various parts of South America and have become the number one choice in many of these markets. In an effort to find a solution to time and cost challenges of changing OTR tires, Stellar Industries' engineers consulted with customers charged with quickly changing OTR tires and also analyzed broader industry research on the impact of time and productivity. The result is the TM20165 tire manipulator (OTR service truck), currently 30 E&MJ; • JUNE 2013 the world's largest truck-mounted tire manipulator capable of changing the largest OTR tire on the market today, the 59/80R63. Introduced at the 2012 MINExpo last September, the TM20165 has more than 24-feet of reach capability, which also allows it to mount and dismount outside as well as inside duals without repositioning (saving 30-40 minutes per tire change). This feature is first of its kind. It also has a clamping span of 44 to 165 inches with continuous manipulator pad rotation and 315 degree body rotation. It comes standard with a fully proportional radio remote control system and has a quad stabilizer package that has a low profile and a hydraulically extendable fold over rear stabilizer set that offers ultimate stability when lifting the world's largest mounted OTR tires. Designed for use in mining areas all over the world, the TM20165 is the most powerful and only truck-mounted product in the industry that can change tire and rim combinations weighing up to 20,000 lbs. Prior to the truck-mounted manipulator of this size, the closest product was a forklift- or loader-mounted concept, or a smaller truck mounted manipulator that had to be repositioned during the tire repair. Stellar Industries' innovative TM20165 provides a resolution for these challenges. Its ability to handle wheel components and complete tire and rim assemblies without the need for special adapters or repositioning offers a solution to maintenance problems raised by growth in mining equipment size, which is key in keeping up with rising productivity needs. www.e-mj.com
