EQUIPMENT GALLERY to upgrade to an even higher degree of automation. The rig also can be ordered with COP 1638, COP 1838 or COP 2238 rock drills with a dual-damping system for optimum service life. The BUT 45 heavy-duty boom is equipped with a double-rotation unit for plus/minus 190° feed roll-over and plus/minus 135° feed rota- tion. It comes with an 8-ft (2.4-m) boom extension, 5.9-ft (1.8-m) feed extension and a BMH 6000 series hydraulic feed. www.atlascopco.com Rock Dust Bucket Offers Performance Features Fairchild International, a U.S.-based manufacturer of underground mining equipment, is now offering an Onboard Rock Duster Bucket for its 35C Scoop series and all additional makes and mod- els of underground scoops. The bucket is equipped with a built-in compartment to accommodate a rock dusting system supplied by TDT, LLC. According to Fairchild, having an onboard rock duster bucket offers many benefits to mine operators, including easy compliance with rock dusting regulations; ability to clean and spread rock dust in one trip without having to load a separate rock duster; greater visibility compared with a traditional scoop flinger rock dusting system; and elimination of the need to apply dust by hand. The rock duster compartment location is conveniently recessed behind the scoop bucket back plate and is designed to work with the TDT rock dusting system that includes a blower and large-capacity tank. www.fairchildint.com Unlike systems that use individual grizzly bars, the perforated plate with circular holes does not allow elongated material to get stuck between bars. This prevents bridging of fine material commonly found in grizzly feeders. Built for high production, the N-Class can process up to 5,000 t/h and can handle material up to 80 x 40 in. (2,000 x 1,000 mm) in size, and up to 40 in. thick. The N-Class is available in sizes from 4 x 8 ft, up to 8 x 24 ft (1.2 x 2.4–2.4 x 7.3 m), and with inclines from 10°–20°. Up to three screen decks are offered to better accommodate different materials. www.wstyler.com Coupling Line Expanded to Handle Larger Pipe Sizes Victaulic, a global manufacturer of mechanical pipe-joining sys- tems, has incorporated a major update to its Style 77 coupling. Screen Line Offers Alternative to Conventional Grizzly Feeders W.S. Tyler says its line of N-Class vibrating screens features tech- nology and design benefits allowing the N-Class to serve as an alter- native to grizzly feeders for mining scalping applications. According to the manufacturer, the N-Class is flexible enough to fit into most operations with an apron feeder, yet features advanced eccentric screening technology to handle heavy-duty applications. It creates a self-cleaning action that reduces blinding and pegging while improving overall screening efficiency. The N-Class can be used with perforated plate screen media up to 4-in. (100 mm) thick. www.e-mj.com JUNE 2012 • E&MJ; 155
