COMPANY PROFILE-PAID ADVERTISEMENT McLanahan Corporation McLanahan Corporation has developed its reputation of excellence and innovation by manufacturing rugged, reliable equipment for the min- ing industry for over 177 years. Established in 1835 as a foundry, McLanahan Corporation believes it is the oldest family-owned, operating foundry in the United States and was recently listed by Family Business Magazine as the 53rd old- est family business in the United States. McLanahan's corporate office and primary base of operations remains at its original site in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania. Currently in the fifth and sixth generations of family ownership and management, McLanahan offers a vast range of products and services that are efficiently handled by dedicated McLanahan personnel throughout the world. Industry Pioneers McLanahan has a long history of being an innovator of processing equip- ment. It began in the 1890s when Samuel Calvin McLanahan, second generation ownership, conceived an idea to wash clay from the rock in the family's Florida phosphate deposits. Inside a long box, he mounted wooden logs and attached cast iron paddles. On January 27, 1891, he secured a patent for his new machine and called it the Log Washer. The company's development of equipment continued in following years with the patent of the Rotary Breaker in 1893. Not long after in 1894, Samuel Calvin McLanahan expanded the company product line again when he invented the McLanahan Single Roll Crusher. These various ideas and innovations successfully changed the company from a foundry only operation into a manufacturer of miner- al processing equipment. Thanks to the hundreds of dedicated employees who have continually updated and modernized the original designs over the years, McLanahan now offers a wide range of equip- ment and systems to process raw and synthetic materials. Expanded Product Lines and Global Growth With such a long history of growth, McLanahan has continued that tra- dition into recent years. Acquisitions, new industry ventures and glob- al offices have allowed the company to expand their market offerings and become one of the most complete equipment ranges in the world. The first major acquisition was the purchase of HSS Sampling Equipment in 1998, adding a line of bulk material sampling systems for mineral processing. Not long after in 2001, they continued expand- ing their existing wet processing equipment line by purchasing U.S. Linatex equipment business. This was followed by a polymer facility in Florida in 2008. The most recent acquisition, Universal Engineering Corp., has brought a large range of hard rock crushers, feeders and more to McLanahan's product line. In addition to the U.S. based offices in Pennsylvania, Florida, Tennessee and Iowa, the company has also expanded to include offices across the globe. Opening its first international location Newcastle, Australia, in 2003, McLanahan has been able to make a significant impact on the Australian, Asia and Pacific Rim markets. The success of this international office led to the opening of an office in Southeast England in early 2012 to serve the European market. Due to the success of these offices, plans are underway for future locations in South America and Southern/Western Africa. Offering the Complete Package Today McLanahan's product line includes: Single, Double, Triple and Quadroll Crushers; Two-Roll Sizers; Stage Loader Crushers; Rotary Breakers; Feeder-Breakers; Crawler Mounted Feeder-Breakers; Drag Feeders; Reclaim Feeders; Sampling Systems; Dewatering Screens; Cyclones; Separators; Ultra Fines Recovery Systems; Thickeners; Pug Mill Mixers; Rotary Scrubbers; Recessed Plate Filter Press and Trommel Screens. Additionally the equipment added from the Universal Engineering Corp. acquisition brings Impact Crushers; Hammermills; Screens; Jaw Crushers; Portable Plants; and Apron, Pan and Wobbler Feeders to the McLanahan line. Customer Focused Results and Capabilities The original foundry is still in operation and provides castings for McLanahan equipment and external customers. McLanahan sales, engineering and customer service constantly work together to improve standard designs to help producers obtain longer wear life on replace- ment parts and to further their return on investment. One of the benefits of working with McLanahan is that spare parts and after sale service are available 24/7. A team consisting of skilled technicians and/or engineers can be on site with short notice to address any of your questions. McLanahan is also able to offer its customers customized solutions to any processing need. Even if a specific application or size doesn't seem readily available, McLanahan will work with your company to ensure the best solution and offer custom-designed equipment.
