82 E&MJ; • JULY 2017 www.e-mj.com EQUIPMENT GALLERY Global construction equipment brand Shandong Lingong Construction Machin- ery Co. Ltd. (SDLG) has launched variable horsepower versions of two of its biggest selling motor graders for Middle Eastern and African markets. The new G9190 and G9220 VHP (automatic variable horse- power) motor graders provide an automat- ic mode for transmission, allowing opera- tors to shift seamlessly between manual to automatic transmission. The G9190 features a blade width of 13 ft with a blade pull of 22,000 lb, while the G9220 has a blade width of 14 ft with a blade pull of 23,200 lb. The unique SDLG circle drive system comes with three support shoes and non-greas- ing slide bushings for better grading and easier maintenance. SDLG graders also feature an asymmetric drawbar ball stud that can be rotated 180° to keep the drawbar in horizontal level position — vital when performing fi ne grading. The cab is designed to offer exception- al all-round visibility, with easy-to-use industry-standard controls, comfortable seating and air conditioning as standard. Large side and rear doors and greasing points are quickly accessible for effi cient daily maintenance. www.sdlg.com Pre-engineered Customizable Motors ABB launched its N-series customizable general-purpose motors in the 50-kilowatt (kW) to 8,000-kW power range. N-series motors currently include three product fami- lies: the high-voltage rib cooled and modular induction motors, and a new range of slip- ring motors. Pre-engineered option packag- es include, for example, vertically mounted motors fi tted with thrust bearings, which are widely used in pumping applications. A selection tool for qualifi ed custom- ers and partners, MachSize, simplifi es the task of motor confi guration, the com- pany reported. Another tool, DocStage, enables customers to manage, share and download pertinent documentation and 3-D drawings of motors. The motors are backed by ABB's global support network, which includes more than 60 service cen- ters and more than 150 authorized ser- vice providers worldwide. www.abbmotion.com Tough Military Trucks Now Serve the Mining Industry Acela, a producer of extreme-duty 4 x 4 and 6 x 6 trucks, recently debuted its Monterra truck line. The company said it offers a proprietary process of resetting U.S. military Medium Tactical Vehicles (FMTVs) to a near zero-mile condition, then selling them into commercial mar- kets such as mining and other resource industries for use as operational support vehicles. Acela said versions of the Mon- terra have proven themselves in mines for more than seven years with a 96% docu- mented uptime. FMTVs were originally developed for the U.S. Army to withstand combat conditions, and, according to Acela, have achieved the U.S. army's "ultra-reliable" status for 17 years. The Monterra line, according to Ace- la, offers robust and dependable design features, including drivetrains, frames, axles, suspensions, tires and other com- ponents specially designed to withstand the rigors of the most extreme environ- ments. Principal specifi cations include 46-in. tires (4- or 6-AWD); 22-in. ground clearance; 330-hp turbocharged Cat 7.2L diesel; 54-in. turning radius; Central Tire Infl ation Systems (CTIS); chassis corrosion protection; 90% parts commonality; and easy-service body confi guration. www.acelatruck.com Quiet Rock Splitter Brokk introduced the C20 Rock Splitter. Manufactured by Darda, it is a safe and quiet alternative to explosives and hy- draulic breakers, the company reported.
