84 E&MJ; • JULY 2017 www.e-mj.com EQUIPMENT GALLERY what equipment an operator is using, at which location, and for what duration. Other major features of Pitram 4.8 include a Reference Data Editor with a more intuitive user interface to improve the interaction with the Qualifi cation and the Operator Qualifi cation reference groups. It is now possible to fi lter by Shift Boss in both the Pitram Portal (Report- ing) and when reporting with OLAP Cube. The OLAP Cube has been extended to include a new fact (Fact SMU), which al- lows reporting on measures against SMU hours. A new action has been included in PRIS that allows Pitram's Portal Report- ing jobs to be triggered remotely; and a new Location Timeline panel can now be used to track location activities. www.micromine.com Engine Starters Engineered for Big Diesels New Leece-Neville PowerPro and Pow- erPro Extreme series high-torque start- ers for medium- or heavy-duty and ex- treme-use applications are available now from Prestolite Electric. PowerPro and PowerPro Extreme 12 V and 24 V start- ers — engineered to provide starting pow- er for 12-L to 40-L engines — include features to help reduce operating and maintenance costs and increase vehicle uptime, including high-torque, high-pow- er designs, planetary gear reduction, rotatable fl anges, soft start relays and more. The new PowerPro and PowerPro Extreme product line features four mod- els — PowerPro 5, PowerPro 7, PowerPro 7.5 and PowerPro Extreme 10 — that of- fer coverage of heavy-duty engines from the world's top manufacturers, including Caterpillar, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, In- ternational, John Deere and Perkins, to name just a few. PowerPro 5 is for medium- and heavy-duty diesel engines up to 11 L, and offers 12 V, 5 kW starting power. PowerPro 7 is designed for heavy-duty diesel engines up to 16 L, and has 12 V, 7 kW starting power. PowerPro 7.5, for medium and heavy-duty diesel en- gines up to 14 L, features 24-V, 7.5-kW starting power and weighs less than 29 lb (13.2 kg). PowerPro Extreme 10 for ex- treme-use heavy equipment, such as that used in mining, provides 24-V, 10.5-kW starting power, covers Case, Caterpillar, Cummins, Hitachi, John Deere, Komat- su and MTU engines, weighs only 36 lb (16.5 kg), and has a -40°C to 125°C am- bient operating range. www.prestolite.com Automated Vehicle for Plants Comau commercialized the automated guided vehicle (AGV) platform along with its AGV, the Agile1500. Modular, scalable and confi gurable, the Agile1500 can car- ry up to 1,500 kg with a maximum speed of 1.7 meters per second (m/s). The vehicle features advanced secu- rity features to include an integrated la- ser scanner that stops it upon detection of an obstacle. It is confi gurable, can be modifi ed with different accessories and can accommodate varying facility layouts. Agile1500 works with multiple navigation systems that use both natural landmarks (walls, objects, etc.) as well as predefi ned points (magnetic spot and magnetic tape). www.comau.com Platform for IoT Data, E-commerce, Analytics Rexnord released DiRXN, a digital pro- ductivity platform based on the integra- tion of innovative Internet of Things (IoT) and e-commerce technologies with its portfolio of tools, products and services. It directly connects customers to data and information that allows them to opti- mize productivity across all stages of their lifecycles, the company reported. DiRXN is designed to help customers maximize production uptime and lower maintenance costs when utilizing Rexnord products and services by simplifying and accelerating the design, selection, order and re-order of the components, the com- pany reported. Features include selector tools, an e-commerce center, remote con- nection for instructions, predictive main- tenance analytics and automated alerts. www.rexnord.com Pump Switch Tracks Temperature, Flow Level Fluid Components International announced the FlexSwitch FLT93 Flow Switch, which detects dry-running conditions in pumps and pipes. It reliably monitors the fl ow and temperature of liquids, gases, slurries and more. The switch is ideal for pump wet/ dry detection, where sudden, unexpected reductions in media fl ow rates may leave pumps vulnerable to over-heating condi- tions, the company reported. With Alarm 1, the switch will detect a low-fl ow situation anywhere between 0.003 m/s to 0.9 m/s. This low-fl ow alarm is a pre-warning signal for the control sys- tem or operator. Alarm 2 occurs because the feed line to the pump is running dry. It signals to shut down the pump immedi- ately. The FLT93 Switch can be specifi ed in either insertion or inline styles for pipe or tube installation. www.fl uidcomponents.com
