Nasser will retire as both chairman and a nonexecutive director. The appointment follows a formal chairman succession process led by Senior Independent Director Shriti Vadera. MacKenzie joined the BHP Board as a nonexecutive director in September 2016 and is a member of the board's sustainability committee. Cameco appointed Brian Reilly as Cameco's senior vice president and COO. Reilly will succeed Bob Steane who retired on June 30 after 34 years with Cameco. Barsele Minerals Corp. announced that Alex Peter Tsa- kumis has joined the company as vice president of cor- porate development. Prior to joining Barsele, Tsakumis was the vice president of corporate development at Tim- mins Gold Corp. for nine years. Dacian Gold Ltd. appointed Brett Hartmann as general manager at Mount Morgans. Prior to joining Dacian Gold, Hartmann was group operations man- ager for Independence Group Ltd., where he was responsible for the Long Nickel, Jaguar and Bentley mining operations. Calvin Ferguson has been appointed as chief geologist of Mount Morgans. Previously, he held senior geological and leadership roles at the St. Ives gold mine in Western Austra- lia and the Pajingo gold mine in Queensland. Michael Mulholland has been appointed construction manager at Mount Morgans. His employment history includes senior construction roles with Fluor Australia, URS and Minproc. IDM Mining Ltd. appointed Ryan Weymark as project director for the Red Mountain underground gold project. IDM Mining Ltd. announced the passing of Stewart, Brit- ish Columbia-raised miner, mine-builder and Canadian Mining Hall of Fame inductee Donald A. McLeod. Along with his late brother Ian McLeod, Don McLeod's legacy and impact on the mining community in northwest Brit- ish Columbia, the company was inspired to be named IDM Mining in their honor. Born in Scotland in 1928, he was raised in Stewart, and started working as a miner and pack horseman in the early 1940s, including at the historic Hartley Gulch mine on the Red Mountain property. He subsequently worked as a tramp miner at numerous operations, eventually becoming mine manager at the nearby Premier mine in the 1960s. His fi rst big discovery was for Pyramid Mines in the Pine Point camp, eventually sold in 1972 to Cominco. He formed Northair Mines in 1972, which discovered and developed the highly profi table polymetallic Brandywine mine. In the 1980s, he developed two gold-silver mines north of Stewart: Summit and Silver Butte. In the late 1980s, Newhawk Gold Mines discovered high-grade gold deposits at the Brucejack project and was subsequently acquired by Silver Standard Resources in the 1990s. Brucejack was later acquired by Pretivm Resources Inc. The Brucejack mine is currently being commissioned, immi- nently entering commercial production. After his retirement, he authored the award-winning book, "The McLeod Luck," and was inducted into the Canadian Mining Hall of Fame, earlier this year. Kerr Mines Inc. appointed Brad Atkinson as director of exploration and geology. Previously, he was a geologist for Phelps Dodge Morenci and a corporate project geologist for Newmont Gold. They also announced the addition of Michael R. Smith as a technical advisor of exploration and geology. Smith is currently president of Monarca Minerals. Lydian International Ltd. appointed Andrew Kaczmarek as COO. He most recently served as independent technical advisor to Alacer Gold Corp. and Midway Gold Corp., inter- im COO for Aurcana Corp. and COO of Victoria Gold Corp. Silver Predator Corp. announced that Scott McLeod joined the board of directors as an independent director and mem- ber of the audit committee. He has held executive positions at Merrill Lynch in the CICG Technology fi nance department. Michael X. Schlumpberger has been named CEO and managing director of American Pacifi c Borate & Lithium. Prior to this appointment, he was the executive general manager of operations for Highfi eld Resources in Spain. Millennium Minerals announced two key appointments including Dean Will as COO. Will has held a senior ex- ecutive position with Anglo American as head of mining service contracts since September 2014. Millennium has also appointed Asareh Mansoori as general manager of operations. Previously, Mansoori was mining manager at the Nullagine project. Mountain Province Diamonds Inc. announced that Pat- rick Evans, its president and CEO, have reached a mutu- al decision and he will depart the company. David Whit- tle was appointed interim president and CEO. Evans will continue as a director of the company. Whittle is currently the lead outside director of the company. Codelco's general manager of the Division Minister Hales, Carlos Caballero D., has submitted his voluntary resignation. The company said it will proceed to appoint the successor in that position. Orefi nders Resources Inc. appointed Charles Beaudry as its vice president of exploration and to the board of direc- tors. He previously held the position of general manager of new business opportunities with IAMGOLD Corp. from 2008 until 2009. Orex Minerals Inc. announced that Alex Peter Tsakumis has joined the company as vice president of corporate development. Previously, he was the vice president of corporate development at Timmins Gold Corp. for nine years. ALLU Inc. announced Scott Stogsdill as its new territo- ry sales manager for the western United States. Prior to joining the company, he served for four years as sales manager, western U.S. and Mexico, for Sandvik Mining & Rock Technology's Conveyor Products Division. PolyMet Mining Corp. appointed Patrick Keenan as CFO. Keenan succeeds Douglas Newby, who has served as CFO for nearly 12 years through a period of great transition and progress for the company. Newby will continue to advise the company as president of Proteus Capital. The Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Pe- troleum awarded the CIM Fellowship for outstanding continuous contributions to CIM and/or the mining, metallurgical and petroleum industries to John Starkey, awarded for his "outstanding contribution to the mineral processing fi eld." He also became a CSM distinguished lecturer, in recognition of his "remarkable contribution to comminution design and practice," and as such will speak at CIM branch and student chapter meetings across Canada. Humberto Gonzalez joined Hawk Measurement as a sales director. Gonzalez has been in the instrumentation and control world for more than 30 years with companies such as Milltronics, Magnetrol and Robert Shaw. Seaport Global Securities LLC announced that Kurt Oe- hlberg joined its investment banking department as managing director, mining and metals, and Chad Jennings has signed on as vice president, mining and metals. Oehlberg's has more than 30 years of experience with fi rms including Rothschild Inc., Chase Securities, and FBR Capital Markets. Jennings has held positions with Contura Energy, Alpha Nat- ural Resources and FBR Capital Markets. Brian Reilly Ryan Weymark Donald A.
