Myson held multiple senior roles at Sherritt. Most recently, Woodhouse was vice president, proj- ects, at Centerra Gold. In connection with these management changes, Barry O'Shea, vice president, fi nance, has been appointed vice president, business development. Gonzalo Eyzaguirre, Buenaventura's vice president of operations, has been designated to serve as interim general manager of the company's subsidiary, El Brocal. He will maintain his current responsibilities in addition to assum- ing the role of interim general manager. OceanaGold Corp. appointed Scott McQueen to the role of CFO. McQueen joined OceanaGold in 2016. Mark Chamberlain, current CFO, has been ap- pointed executive vice president, corporate development, and will relocate from Australia to Canada following the departure of Darren Klinck, executive vice president, corporate development. Fortune Minerals Ltd. announced that Glen Koropchuk has been ap- pointed to the position of technical director and COO to lead develop- ment of the NICO Cobalt-Gold-Bis- muth-Copper Project. Koropchuk, who is also a director of the com- pany, was most recently COO of De Beers Canada Inc. Fortune also announced that Sherry Tunks has re-joined the company as supply chain manager. Tunks has 15 years of supply chain experience. Richard Schryer has been promoted to the position of vice president of regu- latory and environmental affairs. Patricia Penney has been promoted to the position of controller from her previous position as fi nancial and ac- counting manager since 2013. Gonzalo de Losada will succeed Felipe Ferraro as CEO and president of Batero Gold and join its board of directors. Monarques Gold Corp. announced that Elisabeth Tremblay has been appointed to the position of senior geologist – communications, and Martin Lacaille Dufresne has been appointed a geologist. Treasury Metals Inc. appointed Robert MacDonald as vice president, Goliath gold project. MacDonald has worked for Goldcorp's Musselwhite and Red Lake gold mines and Kirkland Lake Gold's Macassa Complex gold mine in Ontario. The company also announced that Norm Bush has retired from his full-time role. Bush will continue to assist the company with community affairs and educating the local stakeholders about the Goli- ath gold project on a consulting basis. Commercial Metals Co. announced that Barbara Smith will assume the role of president and CEO and become a member of the board of directors. Smith has been the company's president and CEO since January. Joe Alvarado will continue to serve as chairman. Nevsun Resources Ltd. appointed Ian W. Pearce to the role of board chair. Pearce succeeds R. Stuart Angus, who will retire as a director on September 30. Pearce was appointed to the board of Nevsun at the beginning of 2017. Since 2013, Pearce has been a partner at X2 Resources. X-Terra Resources Inc. appointed Mi- chel Chapdelaine as vice president, exploration and development. eCobalt Solutions Inc. announced the addition of Floyd D. Varley as COO. Most recently, Varley was vice president of operations for TMAC Resources. Robert L. Chapman was appointed vice president of administration for the company's U.S. operations. Chapman is currently the lead principal in RL Chapman Mining Consulting. TNG Ltd. appointed Philippe Guillemaille as its titani- um business manager. He has held positions as sales manager for Fuji Film, Metallgesellschaft and Monsanto/ Exxon Chemicals, among others. The Mining Association of Canada (MAC) announced that Anne Marie Toutant, vice president, Fort Hills Operations, Suncor Energy Inc., has been elected chair of MAC for the next two-year term. Toutant replaced Robert (Bob) Steane, senior vice pres- ident and COO, Cameco Corp., who served as chair from June 2015 to June 2017. Normet announced that Himanshu Kapadia has been nominated as head of GCCT (Ground Control and Con- struction Technologies) Business Line, and Odd-Björn Kleven will move to a new role to head Solutions Develop- ment. Kapadia is coming from BASF where he managed market operations for BASF Con- struction Chemicals across Asia and Pacifi c Region based in Singapore. Norwest Corp. announced that Greg Gillian has been appointed president of Norwest Corp.'s U.S. operations. Most recently, he was vice president responsible for performance of Nor- west's Processing and Industrial Min- erals business units. WesTech Engineering Inc. appointed Ralph Cutler as president. Cutler currently serves as WesTech's vice president of Industrial Products and Sales. Rex Plaizier, who has been serving as both chief executive offi cer and president, will continue in his role as CEO. Eugene H. Skinner passed away on May 8, 2017, in Spokane, Washington. He was born on March 11, 1930, in Bismarck, North Dakota. He graduated in 1953 from the South Dakota School of Mines. After graduating, he was drafted into the Army where he served two years in West Germany. After returning to the states, he graduated from the Colorado School of Mines in 1960 and became a professional engineer. He worked for the U.S. Bureau of Mines for 29 years until retiring in 1994. He was a pioneer in establishing a lightweight concrete for mine stability and the year he retired, he received an award for overseeing the sealing of shutdown coal mines in West Virginia.
