REGIONAL NEWS - EXPLORATION ROUNDUP 26 E&MJ; • SEPTEMBER 2017 www.e-mj.com Osisko Drilling 400,000 m at Windfall Lake Osisko Mining has reported numer- ous favorable results from an ongoing, 400,000-meter (m) drill program at its Windfall Lake gold project in Urban Township, Abitibi, Québec. The program combines definition, expansion, and ex- ploration drilling in and around the main Windfall deposit, as well as in the adjacent, recently discovered Lynx deposit located immediately northeast of Windfall. Twenty-four drills are active on the over- all Windfall project, with 12 drills currently focused on the principal Lynx deposit and other subparallel Lynx zones. Mineraliza- tion within individual zones of the Lynx de- posit follows the same principal northeast oriented pathways along dike contacts as seen throughout the main Windfall deposit. Osisko has reported significant new results from 16 intercepts from infill and expansion drilling at Lynx. Highlights in- clude 379 g/mt of gold over 2 m (30.7 g/t over 2 m cut); 23.5 g/mt over 3 m; and 9.18 g/mt over 6.1 m. Osisko also has provided a geologi- cal update on Lynx, confirming that the deposit has been extended to more than 1.7 km in length and remains open to the northeast and southeast. The recently de- fined Bank fault is interpreted as the key structure associated with intrusion-relat- ed gold mineralization at both Windfall and Lynx, with potential regional extent. Osisko CEO John Burzynski noted, "Our exploration team has been work- ing particularly hard over recent months absorbing the huge amount of new data from our large-scale drilling program, and, with the new work on the Lynx dis- covery, we are starting to see the emer- gence of a whole new high-grade deposit within our high-grade Windfall project. "Although we are drilling toward a new resource estimate for Windfall by the end of this year, we believe the potential for expanding Windfall and Lynx and making new discoveries within the main deposit area is still completely wide-open." As of late July, five drill rigs were turning. The drilling will be primarily step-out holes, with the objec- tive of investigating extensions of the Curraghinalt deposit, which is open in all directions. Dalradian President and CEO Patrick F. N. Anderson said, "The 2017 work pro- gram will enhance our Curraghinalt gold project through new drilling and geotech- nical, geological and engineering studies. Infill drilling from our underground pro- gram has confirmed high-grade mineral- ization within the existing resource en- velope. We are now stepping out of that envelope to test the extensions of those high-grade veins. Over seven years of ex- ploration at Curraghinalt, we have been successful in expanding the mineral re- source more than sevenfold." "Concurrently, results from test min- ing and processing Curraghinalt material have confirmed that the deposit responds well to mechanized mining methods; ounces recovered in mining are con- sistently higher than predicted by the resource model; and recoveries of more than 94% are achievable." Curraghinalt hosts resources of 25,000 oz measured in 30,000 mt grad - ing 26.99 g/mt, 2.07 million oz indicated in 5.58 million mt grading 11.53 g/mt, and 2.31 million oz inferred in 7.13 mil- lion mt grading 10.06 g/mt. (www.dalradian.com) Fission Uranium has reported results from an additional two drill holes testing the recently-discovered R1515W zone more than 1.5 km west of the Triple R depos- it at its Patterson Lake South project in Canada's Athabasca Basin. The two holes encountered very wide mineralization and strongly radioactive peaks in multiple stacked zones. Of particular interest, hole PLS17-564 intersected 135.5 m of total composite mineralization, including 8.25 m of greater than 10,000 cps (counts per second) and multiple intervals of less than 65,535 cps, the maximum reading possible by the RS-121 scintillometer be- fore saturation. Fission President, COO, and Chief Geologist Ross McElroy said, "We are very excited by the results of these drill holes, not only because of the width and strength of the mineralization but of the confirmation that the land-based R1515W zone has notable mineralization similari- ties to the Triple R deposit's R780E zone, the primary zone of the Triple R deposit. These similarities, including multiple stacked lenses, are why the widths we've encountered in these two holes are so im- pressive. These features have the potential to rapidly grow mineral resources, as was the case with the R780E zone delineation. The R1515W is still at an early stage, and these drill results are highly promising." (www.fissionuranium.com) Paramount Gold Nevada has reported assay results from five new holes at its Grassy Mountain project in eastern Ore- gon, confirming the consistency of both the grade and thickness of the gold min- eralization for economic underground mining. Intercepts include 49 m at 2.91 g/mt, 24.7 m at 5.42 g/mt, and 35 m at 4.53 g/mt. The 30-hole drill program is part of a preliminary feasibility study (PFS) that Paramount is undertaking for construc- tion and operation of an underground mine to exploit the high-grade core of the Grassy Mountain deposit. Among other objectives, the PFS will establish the pa- rameters of a mining and milling opera- tion, define capital and operating costs, and advance the project through the per- mitting process with the Bureau of Land Management, the Oregon Department of Geology and Mineral Industries, and the local agencies of Malheur county. The PFS is scheduled for completion in early 2018. Paramount CEO Glen van Treek said, "We are very pleased with these drill re- sults, which fully support our goal of de- veloping a profitable underground mine at Grassy Mountain. All aspects of the PFS and permitting process remain on track thanks in part to the outstanding co-oper- ation of the regulators." (www.paramountnevada.com)
