EQUIPMENT GALLERY and viscous fluids. The pump is suitable for flows from 0.33 gpm to 40 gpm (1.25 to 151 liters/h) and pressures to 45 psig (310 kPa) at temperatures to 250°F (121°C). www.vanton.com Largest OTR Tire Handler Stellar Industries has unveiled what it claims is the industry's largest truck- mounted OTR tire manipulator, the TM20165, capable of changing the largest OTR tire on the market today, the 59/80R63. The TM20165 is capable of handling tire and rim combinations weigh- ing up to 20,000 lb (9,100 kg) and has more than 24 ft (7.3 m) of reach capabili- ty. The unit's capacity rating also allows it to mount and dismount outside as well as inside duals without repositioning the tire manipulator truck. The TM20165 has a clamping span of 44–165 in. (112–419 cm), with continuous manipulator pad rotation and 315° body rotation. It comes standard with a fully proportional radio remote control system. The TM20165 has a quad stabilizer package that has a low profile and a hydraulically extendable fold over rear stabilizer set that offers high sta- bility when lifting large mounted OTR tires. www.stellarindustries.com Proximity Awareness for Heavy Equipment Netherlands-based Orlaco has developed the RadarEye accident-avoidance system, which offers added safety by combining camera and radar technology. RadarEye's camera-monitor system provides a heavy- equipment operator with extra 'sight' when needed. When an object or person enters the danger zone, RadarEye sounds an audi- ble alarm, selects and activates the required camera, and presents the situa- tion on the monitor by showing an overlay of green, yellow and red signal zones. The audible intensity increases as the person or object moves closer to the red zone. The radar unit, according to Orlaco, is not influ- enced by environment conditions such as snow, rain, mud and or temperature changes, and the system is water, shock and vibration resistant. The radar unit and the camera(s) can be programmed and configured through the monitor. The detec- tion radius is adjustable from 6.5 to 65.5 ft (2 to 20 m). www.orlaco.com www.e-mj.com NOVEMBER 2012 • E&MJ; 133
