GREAT BASIN DEVELOPMENT FEBRUARY 2019 • E&MJ 47 www.e-mj.com of the pit and Premier is currently drilling hydrology test wells to learn more. The Cove resource currently stands at 342,000 oz gold indicated and 1.32 million oz gold of inferred. The property is fully permitted and ready to go. Pre- mier plans to drive an exploration decline, which will land just above both resources. Exploration drilling from the decline will accesses the Helen and the Gap as well as the fault zone between the deposits. "We're excited to drill this," George said. "We expect to dewater the Helen zone at a rate of 10,000 gallons per minute (gpm). The Gap could be as much 30,000 gpm, Echo Bay was pumping about 25,000 gpm when they closed the pit. We will eventually have two test wells to better define what it will take to dewater these deposits." The PEA's mine plan has all the pro- duction coming up the decline via truck haulage. The mine will likely use a cut- and-fill mining method. "Most of the lenses are relatively thin," George said. "We're expecting single-pass mining with a cemented backfill. That's typical under- ground mining in Nevada these days." The PEA calls for an 8-year mine life pro- ducing 740,000 oz from those two zones. Premier also has plenty of property in Nevada to explore. The Goldbanks prop- erty, for example, includes 875 claims on 16,000 acres. "We recently moved the plan of operations at the Rye prop- erty over to our name and we will begin drilling when the snow clears next year," George said. "There is a big epithermal vein running through the property, which is a big target for us. The 510-acre Ro- deo Creek land package has some really good-looking ground in elephant country. Our geologists are currently assembling a comprehensive soil grid for the property and we're hoping for good results." As far as the growth in Nevada, George explained, South Arturo is producing gold and Cove has grown significantly. Over- all, mining and development activities are picking up in the Great Basin and it's safe to say many miners have moved from survival mode to growth. NORDIC DRILLING TECHNOLOGY.
