MARCH 2019 • E&MJ 61 EQUIPMENT GALLERY connection, Voith reported. In this way, the system's lifespan is expanded, and main- tenance costs are decreased signifi cantly. Rugged construction makes the portfolio ideal for use in demanding environments and tasks, such as open-pit mining appli- cations, the company reported. Guided Wave Techs Get Flameproof Certs Hawk Measurement Systems announced it received explosion-proof, fl ameproof and dust ignition-proof certifi cation by FM Approvals for FM, FM Canada and ATEX standards. Applicable guided wave technologies supplied by the company in- clude, for example, the Centurion Guided Radar, a continuous level measurement instrument. It sends a radar pulse down to a probe to measure either liquids, solids or a low-dielectric to high-dielectric inter- face level. The pulse hits the surface or in- terface and is refl ect- ed back up the probe to the sensor, where the transit time is translated into a dis- tance using time of fi ght and time expansion. The amplitude of the refl ection depends on the dielectric constant of the product. Adding to the ex- isting IECEx rating, Hawk now covers all major market areas, the company reported. Tire for Rigid Dump Trucks Magna Tyres Group introduced the Magna M-RIGID, a radial-constructed 27.00R49, 33.00R51, or 40.00R57 earthmover with an E4 tread pattern and designed for rig- id dump trucks op- erating in off-road conditions. It offers the optimal tire per- formance for the pur- chase price, resulting in a low cost-price per hour, the compa- ny reported. The tire has massive rigid lug blocks that offer the traction and durability required in the most severe surface mines. The unique and revolutionary tread pattern design has four major innovations, all of which improve tire life, the company reported. Weight reducing cut outs on the tread blocks and lugs reduce heat buildup. Circumferential groove in the tread pattern improves steering control for enhanced heavy-load cornering performance and im- proved heat dissipation. Interlocking shoul- der blocks reduce excessive movement during cornering to reduce heat build-up and enhance operator comfort. The opti- mized contact patch ensures even wear. The M-RIGID will be available May 2019. ¨ ZERO SPEED SWITCHES Protect expensive equipment Avoid a pileup of material Safeguard operations Reduce downtime Monitor the rotational speed of equipment to: ZERO SPEED SWITCHES Ideal for conveyors, bucket elevators, and other shaft-driven process components. 860-928-6551 • Protect expensive equipment Avoid a pileup of material Electromechanical • Electronic • Inductive Proximity Mining Contractors and Engineers AFRICA | ASIA | AUSTRALIA | EUROPE NORTH AMERICA | SOUTH AMERICA • Shaft Sinking • Mine Development • Contract Mining • Raiseboring • Raise Mining • Underground Construction • Engineering & Technical Services • Specialty Services EXPERIENCE A revolutionary shaft sinking technique: the Shaft Boring Roadheader from Herrenknecht AG A Member of The Redpath Group Slavkaliy's Nezhinskiy Mine Consider it done.
