COMPANY PROFILE-PAID ADVERTISEMENT L&H; Industrial, Inc. L&H; Industrial continues to demonstrate a high safety standard and is leading the way in the design, engineering and manufacturing of superior products for the mining industry. OMEGA SNUBBER RESULTS OF SIX-MONTH TRIAL PERIOD: L&H; has utilized its advanced engineering and manufacturing capabilities to design the Omega snubber that enhances the shovel dipper. This unique snubber system assists in the opening and closing of the dipper door, making for a smooth operation and has been proven to reduce maintenance costs to the dipper, dipper door and even the haul truck. Tests have shown drastically reduced cracking in the dipper and dipper door, as the door is assisted closed by the snubber instead of being slammed closed by weight. This results in less damage to the haul truck due to the door not slamming against the side of the bed when opening. During a six-month trial period, a mine in the Powder River Basin using the L&H; Omega snubbers reported that not a single weld was needed on the dipper door during the six-month time frame. Normally, the customer was welding on the dipper door at every scheduled PM. Because the Omega snubber would not allow the door to slam shut, when they shimmed the latch lever correctly, it stayed in place and wore evenly, creating longer life on the latch lever. This process also reduced the need to shim the door as much, as the door was slamming less. L&H; Industrial currently offers their Omega snubbers to fit 27-59 yard dippers. The company will soon offer larger capacity snubbers. Certified repair services are offered through L&H; Industrial and their distribution network. Installation assistance for the Omega snubber is also available upon request through L&H; Industrial field services. OMEGA 495 HR FINAL DRIVE ASSEMBLY MODIFICATION: L&H; Industrial continues to innovate while providing new products to the mining industry resulting in direct solutions for the market. For years, L&H; has worked with customers to create "customerized" solutions and recently proposed a modification to the 495 HR final drive assembly. The company noticed when the final drive shaft, tumbler and other parts needed to be replaced or repaired, a significant amount of time was spent removing additional parts such as the propel transmission. To make maintenance easier, L&H; wanted to create a design modification to make accessing the tumbler and shaft easier. The L&H; Industrial assembly mod. eliminates the need to remove the transmission so the bearings, seals, drive tumbler and shaft can be serviced. It involves a slight modification to the crawler frame. This modification does not affect the ability to replace the parts with OEM components if needed. Contamination of bearings is addressed through newly designed seals and a thrust surface has been added to help alleviate wear of the crawler frame. The assembly, which is installed by L&H;, takes half the time compared with the conventional way of accessing the shaft and tumbler.
