90 E&MJ; • DECEMBER 2015 E Q U I P M E N T G A L L E R Y After acquiring the equipment division of Linatex North America in 2001, McLanahan Corp. has since assembled pumps and supplied spare parts for the original Linapump IIIr centrifugal slurry pump in the North American market. With a growing international presence, McLanahan is now offering its newly devel- oped McLanahan M3H rubber-lined slurry pump for the global market. Re-engineered from the Linapump IIIr design and manu- factured by McLanahan for improved qual- ity, the McLanahan M3H pump is dimen- sionally identical and displays comparable hydraulic performance to its predecessor. Four gland options—hydrostatic, packed, mechanical and dry—combine with an extensive range of abrasion-resistant wear parts in a variety of materials and hardness. The McLanahan M3H has been designed so that its components are interchangeable with existing Linapump IIIr pumps. www.mclanahan.com Safer Core Drilling Rigs Atlas Copco said it now offers drill rigs that eliminate many of the hazards typically associated with underground core sam- pling. The risk of handling inner tubes and drill rods while extracting core samples, for example, is common for drillers every- where, and despite safety regulations, acci- dents and severe injuries still occur. Atlas Copco noted that its Diamec Smart core drilling rigs have an advanced control sys- tem that enables automatic functions such as drilling and rod handling. The improved control system on Diamec Smart rigs is based on Atlas Copco's Rig Control System (RCS), and now features more than 20 hardware and software improvements over previous versions. Operators using the rig's advanced handler can perform work from a safe distance, with rod addition and removal carried out automatically. In addi- tion to safety, the company said the auto- matic functions also improve the working environment and increase productivity: A 3-m-long inner tube with core samples can weigh about 100 kg, for instance, and han- dling it is heavy and hazardous work. The rod handler eliminates operator fatigue and helps maintain pace over an entire shift. www.atlascopco.com Wet Scrubbers Handle Sticky Materials A new line of Handte Vortex wet scrubbers from Camfil Air Pollution Control (APC) is designed to deliver high-performance wet dust collection with "plug and play" opera- tion and low maintenance. The units are said to be ideal for capturing very sticky dusts and fibers, for processes with high fire Popular Slurry Pump Design is Re-engineered for the Global Market www.e-mj.com
