Trace makes it easy to identify and as- sign hardware statuses, reserve hardware, and improve project planning with I/O channel spare management. Engineering teams are able to maintain their network and hardware topology without having to redraw it every time a change is made. Honeywell Trace allows for better deci- sion-making and ultimately improves op- erational effectiveness. According to Honeywell, the new soft- ware documents data up to 300 times more frequently than other MOC tools and provides powerful search and parameter query functions. It offers smart change analysis, user-confi gurable defect defi ni- tion capabilities, real-time system perfor- mance assessments, and an intuitive user experience design with dashboards and logical network views. Program Offers 'Breakthrough' Ball Mill Modeling Metcom Technologies describes its Stream- line program as a "breakthrough" ball mill modeling application that uses Func- tional Performance Analysis to carry out circuit performance improvements. According to Michigan, USA-based Metcom, the application uses plant sur- vey data to construct a ball mill size re- duction model represented by real-world cumulative grinding rates through all size classes. Cyclone separation performance is characterized using size-by-size recov- eries to underfl ow. The easy to construct, two-unit circuit model perfectly replicates the circuit survey size distributions and mass fl ows. Pump and cyclone perfor- mances can then be adjusted using the provided step-by-step procedure to max- imize Classifi cation System Effi ciency (CSE), the optimization metric. Streamline is cloud-based and ac- cessed through a web browser. It is sup- ported by tutorial videos, live technical support, and fi ve related training modules from the Metcom Grinding Process Man- agement System, including Functional Performance of Ball Milling, Hydrocy- clone Performance, Hydrocyclone Adjust- ments, Slurry Pumping and Evaluation of Circuit Classifi cation. Gekko, Rockwell Automa- tion to Develop Metallurgi- cal Accounting System Gekko Systems and Rockwell Automation have signed a Memorandum of Understand- ing (MoU) to develop software solutions that will assist mining customers across the globe to account for metal content in the various stages of ore processing plants and provide the analytical capability to audit and improve operating performance. The metallurgical accounting program is currently in development and pilot stage. "We are delighted to have the oppor- tunity to help co-develop this Connected Mine software solution with Gekko Sys- tems. This is the culmination of our on- going 15 plus year relationship and the exploitation of technology and industry trends towards the Industrial Internet of Things. This is a solution that ultimately will help benefi t our respective clients," said Steve Simpkin, Gekko account man- ager, Rockwell Automation. Metso to Increase Screening Media Production Capacity Metso is expanding its global manufactur- ing capacity for rubber screening media used in minerals processing by investing in three new injection presses. The presses will be installed at Metso's facilities in Aus- tralia, India and Sweden by early 2018. The company said the EUR 1.7-mil- lion investment will signifi cantly in- crease its global rubber screening media manufacturing capacity. Demand for its screening media has grown in the mining segment after the introduction of 1 x 1-ft (305- x 305-millimeter) modular screen- ing media, Trellex 305PS, in 2016, ac- cording to Metso. The 1 x 1-ft screening media mod- ule size is a standard in major mining markets, due to safety and compatibility reasons. Metso made the decision to in- clude the size in its Trellex product range, based on customer demand. "Complementing our extensive wear parts portfolio with an industry standard Honeywell says its new Trace change management software documents data up to 300 times more frequently than similar products.
