The R3 series is 30% smaller and 25% lighter than pre- decessor technology, with 2.5 times faster data acquisition than the company's I-Site 8000 scanners, Maptek reported. The scanner weighs 9.6 kilograms (kg) and is accurate to 4 mm. High-resolution laser scans collect detailed data for geological and geotechnical face mapping. High-fi - delity imagery captured underground at the same time as scanning provides context. A scan window of -40° to 90° vertically, and 360° horizontally captures all surfaces. Whatever the orientation of the scanner, integrated leveling automatically corrects scans before processing, Maptek reported. www.maptek.com Probe Measures B and dB/dt Fields Abitibi Geophysics launched the ARMIT 3 probe, which simultaneously measures the B and dB/dt fi elds, enabling the detection of a wide range of conductors. The probe has a low noise envelope, facilitating drill target identifi cation and cost reductions, Abitibi Geophysics reported. Benefi ts in- clude ease-of-use, durability, stability and quality data, the company reported. The probe was unveiled at PDAC 2018. www.ageophysics.com Stockpiles Automatically Mapped, Quantifi ed BinMaster unveiled a solution for auto- matically estimating inventory in a covered storage structure. The solution deploys the company's 3DLevelScanner acoustic sen- sor to detect, map and measure levels of piled materials. Then BinMaster's MultiVi- sion software categorizes the piled materi- al by virtual section. Minimum, maximum, and average levels per section can be cal- culated for up to 99 unique sections. Data is arranged into a visual representation of the topography of the piled materials. Identifying high and low sections allows for automating process control and man- aging the fi lling or extraction of materials through cone-shaped hoppers in the bot- tom of the bunker or warehouse, BinMas- ter reported. In proven installations, up to 20 3DLevelScanners have been mounted in the upper structure of the roof. www.binmaster.com DTH Hammer for Blastholes Rockmore International introduced the ROK 550T down the hole T Series ham- mer. The hammer is a 5-in.-class ham- mer that uses a QL5/QL50 bit shank. It drills 5.5-in. to 6-in.- diameter holes for blast-hole applications. The hammer features Rockmore's SonicFlow technology, which optimizes airfl ow by simplify- ing and streamlining the air paths to minimize back fl ow and turbulence, thus deliver- ing more energy to the piston, the company reported. Listed benefi ts include faster pene- tration rates and greater effi - ciency. T Series hammers are tubeless with bits on standard shank connections without the blow tube or foot valve. www.rockmore-intl.com Predictive Analytics Upgrade for OptiMine Sandvik announced OptiMine Analytics, an upgrade to OptiMine that offers pre- dictive capabilities and actionable dash- boards. The system features easy-to-use, real time, automated dashboards with comprehensive process overview to drive process improvements, Sandvik reported. By assessing equipment effectiveness, the system pinpoints bottlenecks and areas for fl eet and operation improvement in terms of mechanical availability, utilization and the quality of production. Insights into operator actions improve safety by iden- tifying areas for training proactively, the company reported. The system assimilates data from other OptiMine digital tools, including Monitoring, Location Tracking, Scheduler and Task Management, as well as other mining and maintenance systems.
