MAY 2018 • E&MJ; 53 www.e-mj.com SUPPLIERS REPORT data and online wear measurement tech- niques. The company has more than 30 TBC-67s operating in oil sands hydrotrans- port and tailings today, GIW reported. Double Coin Receives Tire Shipment From New Plant Double Coin and CMA announced their Rancho Cucamonga, California, warehouse received the first shipment of tires from the recently opened manufacturing facility in Thailand. The facility is owned by Huayi Group (Thailand) Co. Ltd., and will manu- facture TBR tires, industrial tires and OTR tires for the North American market. Double Coin leadership said the new facility will help the company advance its plans. "This project is part of China's One Belt and One Road strategy, which seeks to create mutually profitable relationships with other countries such as Thailand," Tim Phil- lips, vice president of marketing and oper- ations, Double Coin, said. "This new plant will be able to meet the growing demand for Double Coin tires and facilitate the expan- sion of our TBR and OTR product line." Phillips was part of a team that visited the plant. Mike Yang, president of CMA, and Liu Xunfeng, chairman of the board of Shanghai Huayi Group Co., also attend- ed. The purpose was to build relationships with Thai government officials. Represent- ing Thailand were Wissanu Krea-ngam, deputy prime minister of Thailand, and Vera Chaiperm, governor of Bangkok. The facility operates in the Luckchai Rubber Industrial City Hub, which is lo- cated in Thailand's Rayong Province. Built on a 3.6-million-ft 2 site, the facility is set to manufacture more than 2.5 million TBR tires as well as 50,000 OTR tires. For the project, manufacturing and material transfer are automated. The entire plant is controlled by manufacturing execution system software, and is integrated with the SAP management system. The auto- mation reduces the number of employees in the factory to half of what is needed in a traditional tire factory and ensures the quality of the products produced is more stable and reliable, Double Coin reported. Grader Delivered to Underground Mine NPK Construction Equipment (NPK), dis- tributor for Paus GmbH mining vehicles, announced the delivery of the first Paus PG-10 heavy-duty mining grader to Signal Peak's underground coal mine in Roundup Mountain, Montana, USA. The grader was sold through NPK's local parts and service dealer, Modern Machinery, located in Bill- ings, Montana. Signal Peak requested the grader be painted white for additional re- flectivity. The interior of the cab was painted flat black. It was built using a Tier 3/MSHA Cummins QSB 4.5 engine (Tier 4 also avail- able) and a hydrostatic drive system. Veolia Water Technologies Plant to Up Production for Lithium Miner Veolia Water Technologies reported that its solution at the Greenbushes lithium mine water treatment plant could contrib- ute to a doubling of output from the Tal- ison lithium mine, reportedly the largest such mine in the world. After engineering and test work, Veolia will provide a water treatment plant solution based on ACTIF- LO clarification, CeraMem ultrafiltration, high-recovery RO and two-stage EVALED thermal evaporation, the company report- ed. The water treatment plant is designed to treat a maximum feed flow of 150 cubic meters per hour and achieve the highest overall water recovery possible. Beyond increasing production numbers, the plant solution will enable the miner to satisfy environmental requirements to reduce lithium contained in the on-site mine water prior to discharge. The plant is scheduled for completion in 2019. Boart Longyear Adds Drills to Meet Demand Boart Longyear announced it will add new exploration drill rigs to its drilling services fleet in response to increased demand. In Chile, a new LF160 top-drive coring rig will go to a current customer project al- ready deploying two LF160 rigs. The rig paired with the FL262 FREEDOM Loader provides hands-free rod handling.
