The drills are built around the CAN BUS de- sign with enhanced control systems help- ing to reduce troubleshooting time and increase availability. Sandvik's scalable (non-bundled) surface drill automation architecture allows for a customized path to the level of automation needed. The DR412i Rotary Blasthole Drill is designed to improve conservation and de- liver dependable penetration in the world's harshest mining conditions, Sandvik re- ported. It is designed for rotary and DTH drilling applications with a hole range of 216-311 mm. High- and low-pressure ver- sions are available with single-pass max- imum hole depth of 31 meters (m) and multipass maximum hole depth of 75 m. Scheduled to be re- leased in the fi rst half of 2018, the Sandvik DR416i rotary blasthole drill is the largest surface drill Sandvik offers, capable of drilling up to 406-mm holes while offering the high- est rotational torques and pulldown forces at the lowest possible operating cost, the company reported. The DR410i, slated for release in 2019, is the next addition to the i-Series. It is designed for rotary drilling applications with a hole range of 200 mm to 225 mm and DTH applications with a hole range of 152 mm to 225 mm. High- and low-pres- sure versions are available with single-pass maximum hole depth of 14 m and multi- pass maximum hole depth of 56 m. Scheduled to be released at Electra Mining Africa, September 10-14, the Leopard DI650i is a surface DTH drill that offers superior mobility, excellent operator comfort and serviceability and an intelligent DTH control system, which can be scaled up in the future with more automated features, Sandvik reported. Sandvik also announced the DA55 Rod Loader for both core drilling and re- verse circulation. Its design incorporates internal jaws inside the cup, clamping the rod during loading operations.
